Aquatic Sensations

Flameworked sculpted glass: blown and solid. This first collaboration between Hethre and Carl inspired them to stretch beyond their comfort zones and tap into their daydreams. Together, they researched unusual deep sea life forms, engineered and executed on a unique, functional piece. Species featured: Hippocampus Denise (Pygmy Seahorse), Gorgonian Coral, Octopus Vulgaris (Common Octopus), Seagrass, Astropecten Articulatus (Royal Starfish), Sinularia (Blue Soft Coral), Entacmaea Quadricolor (Sea Anemone), Palythoa Grandis (Sea Polyps), and Montipora Digitata (Super Bright Green Coral).
