Psilocybe Cubensis

My entry for Lifeforms is Psilocybe cubensis . It is a solid glass sculpture that is representing The growth of "magic mushrooms" off of inoculated steralized grain. Also know as the Pf-Tek. My inspiration for this piece is Paul Staments. An author, Mycologisist,and truely amazing individual that has taught the world about the benifits of fungi. The sculpture sits on a cherry wood base, has an engraved plaque reading "Psilocybe cubensis " And "Earle/Singer" The mushroom sculpture consists of 10 Psilocybe mushrooms attached to a solid glass base. I used multiple layers of frit and several sizes to achieve the texture I was looking for. the glass specimine bell was made by "cool hand" Suuze Tipton. I, Anthony Milewski made the wood base, and the mushroom sculpture. Just as cannabis has been overlooked for medical purposes, The use of these "magic mushrooms" also has. The fact that such a sacred fruit has been Criminalized, and not seen for its mental healing powers, is disheartening to those that know it real capabilities. I know the content is not for everyone, But as an artist I want to use my voice to bring light to the true beauty these "magic mushrooms Posses. Thank you for viewing, Anthony Milewski
