Pteropodidae (Fruit Bat)

This is an artistic rendering of a Megabat skeleton, also known as a fruit bat. It is made using copper tubing and soft glass out of a furnace. Each piece was hand sculpted separately and then were attached together once cooled. The copper and glass combination invokes a comparison between organic and man-made materials. It also creates a visual to the idea that atoms are the building blocks for life.
