Fossilizations

This piece was inspired by the fact that at pet stores many of the fish never get to a home. Some of the fish die in the tank because the tanks are overcrowded and from diseases. This was made by slowly fusing the fish in glass for over a week. I take the whole fish and put it between the layers of glass. The bones and matter turn white in the firing process making a ghost presence of what used to be. These fish never found a home but they live on as art frozen in time.
