This glass sculpture was inspired by "Heliofungia actiniformis." This type of coral is more commonly known as a "Long Tentacle Plate Coral." The plate coral is often confused with sea anemone since both have long, colorful tentacles. The plate coral has long tentacles that direct zooplankton and small fish to the central mouth. This sculpture was created using clear borosilicate glass for the main structure. Transparent borosilicate "Pink Rozay" was used to create the long tentacles and "Purple Rain" was used on the tentacle tips.
