Suzu cricket(bell cricket)

The title of my work, "Suzu Mushi," is "Bell Cricket" in English.  However, to us Japanese, their delicate sound is more like crystal.

We often keep suzu mushi crickets in a cage during summer to enjoy their beautiful sound which relaxes and cools us during hot summer nights.  We feed them eggplants, cucumbers, and shredded bonitos.  In return, they provide us with their singing. 

I wanted to express this exquisite symbiotic existence between suzu mushi crickets and us. 

The hardest part was to show the patterns through wings by combining matte and transparent glasses.
