Box Turtle, Terrapene carolina

The box turtle eating a strawberry is inspired by 19th century illustrations which would often romanticize and anthropomorphize animal subjects. The box turtle is native to where I live, and I really loved the expression on this turtle's face as it bites the juicy strawberry.
